- Deren is a serial renovator who has no plans to recover from his affliction. He has owned his home for six years and has been remodeling it for six years. According to his wife, this equates to "a long remodel." When not working on his home, Deren oversees a restoration and facilities management division of a large California construction company. After studying architectural design at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Deren discovered there was such a thing as a degree in construction management. He immediately pursued this new focus of study, and has focused on the built-environment ever since. Deren is president and founder of www.MeandYourHouse.com, a website devoted to making your remodel a success. The Monday's make their home in California's Central Valley with their son, daughter, beagle and fish.
